Family Literacy Day is January 27. Join us at the library to celebrate along with the Dawson Creek Literacy Society and Literacy Now. All kinds of activities are planned at the library from 3 – 5 p.m. Come down and play board games, make bookmarks, and make cookies in a jar. Read a story to your children or have them read a story to you while you are here, and you will be entered in a draw for some great prizes! The City of Dawson Creek’s Park and Play event will be happening across the street at Kin Park at the same time – when you need a break from tobogganing come on over and have some fun at the library too!
Story Time will begin Wednesday February 7, and Thursday February 8 2018, at 10:30 am each day. Children 3 – 5 years of age are eligible to register. This is a one-hour program that includes a snack, craft, stories and singing. Parents or Care Givers can register in December by phoning 250-782-4661 the library or dropping in at the front counter. Younger siblings are also welcome. This is a free program.
Tuesday, February 6 2018, is the start up date for our two drop in children programs.
Babies and Books starts at 10:30 am. This is a free half-hour program for newborns to age 1. There will be stories and interactive songs. Parents, care givers and babies are welcome to stay, play and visit with each other after the program.
Toddler Time starts at 11:00 am. This is a free half-hour program for children ages 1 – 2 years of age. There will be stories, songs, and at the end of the program there are toys for the toddlers to play with so the parents or care givers can visit.
